Don’t bother with a comments section on a personal or company blog. It will never turn into the Talmudic interpretation of your brilliance you think it will.

Let comments happen on existing social media platforms, people already have more “friends” on these than ever will on your blog. Sharing within that network can reach exponentially more people.

They are also likely to be more timely. Interwoven comments made months apart are probably unrelated, just “thank yous” (appreciated but don’t contribute anything), or spammy trackback links.

On existing platforms, given the deluge of posts burying any share within hours or days, any new share, with new comments, will be made at a later date, and should take into account the state of the world better at that time.

Topping it off, any platform you or someone else decides to share on is infinitely more likely to have quality content filters better than anything you could build in 100 years time.
